Study of the financial impact of the unification of law concerning the continued payment of wages in case of incapacity to work due to illness, accident at work or occupational disease

The government programme „Erfolgreich.Österreich“ [Successful.Austria] (2013-2018) includes the harmonisation of labour regulations through the continued payment of wages for employees in case of incapacity to work due to illness, accident at work or occupational disease.

The aim of the study was to create three scenarios, which (1) based on the status quo (2) calculate the costs of a harmonisation of labour regulations. In addition (3) the difference between scenario 1 and 2 should be illustrated.

Besides the anonymised merging of personal data from different sources, L&R provided designs of longitudinal-based approaches for each of the three scenarios. Furthermore L&R gave content-related support by creating an additional model, which calculates the impact of different input-variables on the costs.
