Socially disadvantaged people and people furthest from the labour market in the province of Burgenland

The central focus of this research project was the identification of the size and social structure of the target group of people furthest from the labour market capable of work in the Burgenland province. For the Public Employment Service Austria (AMS) the core target groups of people capable of work were of primary interest, that is those who, according to provincial law, can be asked to contribute to their means-tested minimum income by working. The analysis included the following aspects:

  • analysis of anonymised data on social welfare recipients
  • analysis of files on social welfare recipients
  • longitudinal analysis of the labour market situation of the people furthest from the labour market
  • analysis of interfaces of persons active in the support of people furthest from the labour market
  • courses of action regarding support and labour market integration for AMS Burgenland.
