Raising the Labour Force Potential of Women with Childcare Responsibilities in the Province of Carinthia

27.06.2024

With the increasing shortage of skilled labour, the labour force potential of women has become even more important. In particular, women with childcare responsibilities who are not (or cannot) participate in the labour market are increasingly becoming the focus of attention. As the results of the study have shown, the main obstacles in increasing the labour force potential of women are an inadequate childcare situation for young children, a low level of paternal participation (also due to longer periods of absence from work) and a wide range of discrimination on the labour market due to motherhood (creating considerable obstacles for women searching for work).

The study was commissioned by AMS Carinthia.
