Evaluation of the Salzburg assistance services

Assistance services for (a) registered disabled persons, (b) persons
with disabilities receiving support according to the Salzburg Disability Act
and (c) youths with special educational support needs, keep contact to
companies for various reasons, such as e.g. the search for apprenticeship
training positions, traineeships, “first glimpse” traineeships, permanent
workplaces or the acquisition of orders, to name the most important. The
companies are not only in danger of being overtaxed by the multitude and
concentration of the contacts with the assistance services. Due to the growing
confusing diversity of cooperation offers, the danger of misinformation cannot
be excluded anymore, because it must be assumed, that the broad perspective of
the often informal structures cannot be recognised by people from unrelated
sectors anymore. An immediate consequence of this situation is decreasing
interest in co-operation respectively a reduction of the willingness to
co-operate on the part of the partner enterprises. Furthermore, the issue is
examined, to which extent the Salzburg enterprises are willing to employ people
from the above target group, to integrate them into a training relationship, or
to allow them to gain first experiences during an internship. This study
therefore investigates the status quo of the Salzburg assistance services and searches
for alternatives to the current practice with the objective of a sustainable
improvement of the situation. Apart from a network analysis, a representative
survey of Salzburg enterprises is planned.
