Baseline study on winter aid users

During the wintertime the Viennese Social Fund provides – in cooperation with other organisations of the Viennese Assistance to the Homeless – additional resources for homeless people. Besides sleeping places these additional resources also include day-care centres, which are located either in already existing facilities or in newly rented properties. Past evaluations showed that the demand for winter aid is constantly increasing. The aim of the current study is to characterise the users of winter aid offers – in quantitative as well as in qualitative perspective. This information should enable the performing organisations to differentiate the measures of the winter aid and to adapt them to the needs of the clients. At the same time a tool should be invented, which allows a monitoring of the winter aid users and an annual quantitative user-based data analysis.
