Evaluation of the “Voluntary Year of Service”

The “Voluntary Year of Service” (FSDJ) forms a framework for the voluntary work of young people in social
institutions for the period of one year’s time. Currently the public funding of
the FSDJ is based on a special directive, a legal regulation is in discussion.
The aim of the evaluation was
the representation of the implementation of the FSDJ in Austria against the
backdrop of the special directive. Insights into positive and negative
experiences with the actual processing of the FSDJ and the public funding
formed the basis for the development of success criteria and improvement
suggestions. The results of the evaluation were to be integrated into
future models of the FSDJ.
