Development of a labour market related network of cities

The aim of this project was to identify potential partner cities and to develop the content and organisational basis for the establishment and operation of a labour market city network, which will be under the patronage of LGS Vienna. Accordingly, the selected twin cities should have the following characteristics:

They should…

  • be comparable with the Vienna Public Employment Service due to its organisational structure, the target architecture, the budget available and the structure of persons registered as unemployed as well as the employment structure,
  • have found innovative solutions to current problems, such as measures for NEETs, young people receiving the needs-based minimum income (BMS) or the qualification background of migrants,
  • be prepared to cooperate within the framework of a labour market policy city network,
  • be interested in a long-term cooperation and in getting to know best practices of Vienna’s labour market policy.

On the basis of data analyses and interviews with relevant labour market policy players, the potential partner cities were selected, the main focus of the network was identified and the organisation and possible financing were determined.
