Conceptual Preparation of the Gender Equality Priority Axis

The European Social Fund (ESF) is an important EU instrument for promoting employment, education and social inclusion. This also includes a focus on reconciliation and equality, which specifically addresses the unequal distribution of income, the reconciliation of work and care responsibilities, and the elimination of stereotypes hamper the equal participation of women and men in the labour market. In Austria, the ESF is managed by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economy (BMAW). L&R Social Research supports together with prospect Unternehmensberatung the BMAW in the development of the gender equality priority axis within the ESF with the following services:

• Further development of company consultations, based on the experiences of the last EU funding period 2014-2020;
• Development of a concrete measure for capacity building of social and collective bargaining partners.

A specific focus is on women in the low-skilled and also higher-skilled sector. The further development of existing projects (FairPlusService, 100 percent) is to be carried out along the themes of green jobs and digitalisation.
