15 years of INTERREG-ETZ in Austria – Review and outlook: human resources, labour markets and migration

On the basis of a literature and data analysis the key developments of the last 15 years were examined with respect to the following questions:

  • How has the labour market situation developed in the neighbouring countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland and Germany – NUTS 1 and NUTS 2) since 1995 in comparison with the situation in Austria?
  • How has the cross-border migration of labour changed?
  • What changes on the labour market are likely to occur as a consequence of the open-ing of the labour markets?
