Study on the reconciliation of work and family (Research, 2013-2014)
The reconciliation of work and family and – specifically – the reconciliation of work and child care is a major socio-political challenge. The establishment of a balance between these areas of life requires well-developed support structures, that allow mothers and fathers to coordinate their occupational needs and care requirements in a satisfactory way.
Using the instrument of a telephone survey with 600 employed women and men, the study wants to shed light on how these persons organize childcare – particularly in the case of illness of children and during holidays – and how the care services are compatible with one‘s working hours and other occupational requirements.
