This study describes the situation of women in the Austro-Hungarian border region based on existing data.

The main focus, corresponding to that of the Expert Academy, is placed on the labour market situation. The development in the past 10 years was followed up in West Hungary and East Austria from the gender and equal opportunities perspective, an extensive appraisal and analysis of the social and labour market policy situation of women in the border regions was accomplished, currently existing gender and equal opportunity policy approaches in labour market policy as well as the general status quo of equal opportunity facilities and mechanisms were examined.
